image People's Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Bauchi State, Honourable Mohammed Auwal Jatau, on Monday conceded defeated to the state governor-elect, Barrister Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, declaring that his defeat was a will of God. Addressing journalists in Bauchi on Monday, Jatau, who is a member of the House of Representatives, representing Zaki federal constituency, declared that though his expectation was to win the election, saying that Allah had ruled otherwise. Jatau stated that he accepted the outcome of the election as an act of Allah, submitting that, "It is the will of Allah because only Him gives power to whosoever He likes at whatever time He wishes." He informed that he had called the governor-elect on Sunday night to congratulate him on his victory at the polls, adding that he did that in the spirit of sportsmanship. "I have since accepted the results of the election as declared by INEC and even called the winner late yesterday (Sunday) to congratulate him. This was in the spirit of sportsmanship because in every game there must be a winner and a loser," Jatau stated. While thanking those who cast their votes for him last Saturday, Jatau, who was a former Bauchi State House of Assembly Speaker, expressed gratitude to the PDP for giving him the opportunity to fly its flag in the governorship election. He also appreciated the state governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda "who supported me right from the initial stage ofthe exercise until the last moment," declaring that he would ever remain grateful for the supports of all. Jatau then prayed for the success of the incoming administration in the state, declaring, however,that, "though we lost out this time around, there is always another tine insha Allah."
