The Bauchi State government has written to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to investigate the past governor of the state, Malam Isa Yuguda, over alleged misuse of over N6billion purportedly spent for security reasons.
In a letter addressed to the EFCC chairman, dated November 27, 2015 with ref number GO/SS/FIN/S18/T.1 and signed by the secretary to the state government, Bello Shehu Ilelah, it stated the amount was supposed to be used for the execution of projects in the areas of health, education, rural development and security.
The commission had been awash with petitions against former governors except Yuguda, until now.
The petition shows a breakdown of withdrawals from January to May of 2015 to include N351,806,000.00, N899,900,000.00, N2,040,876, 500.00, N738,200,000.00 and N2,150,441,730.00 respectively, totalling N6,181,224,230.00 for which the government is asking the EFCC to cause investigation to be conducted and former governor to provide answers.
