President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed appreciation to all those who wished him a happy birthday as he clocked 74 years on Saturday.
In a tweet, seenby the NANon Sunday, the president acknowledged all the messages and kind wishes he received in respect of the anniversary.
President Muhammadu Buhari, who had on Friday given out his daughter, Zahra, in marriage to Ahmed Indimi, pledged that he would continue to do his best in transforming the country for the good.
As stated by him, his administration is determined to build a nation that all Nigerians will be proud of.
He said: “I thank everybody who wished me a happy birthday yesterday. I received and acknowledged all your messages and kind wishes.
“I will not stop to work for the good of Nigeria and ask you all to join hands with me, and my government to build a nation we can all be proud of.”
reported that President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday marked his 74th birthday anniversary with a special military parade and an inspection of a Guard of Honour.
The low-key event took place at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The Guard Brigade, headed by the Commander, Brigade of Guards, Brig.-Gen. Musa Yusuf, also performed a Special Birthday Silent Drills, accompanied with special military birthday song in honour of the president.
President Muhammadu Buhari also cut a birthday cake and released 74 pigeons from a cage as part of the activities marking the anniversary
He also signed birthday anniversary register where he wrote: “I am impressed with the special drills presented by the Guard Brigade.”
Hundreds of the president’s friends and well wishers including West African leaders, who were in Abuja for the 50th Summit of Authority of Heads of State and Government of the ECOWAS, congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on his 74th birthday.
The ECOWAS leaders sang a special birthday song for the Celebrant before the commencement of the summit, held at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja on Saturday.
