The Anglican Bishop of Egbu Diocese Rt. Rev. Geoffrey Okorafor has cautioned politicians in Nigeria over disrespect for court orders.
Okorafor raised the alarm during a Eucharistic service of confirmation, admission, and induction at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Umuocham Ntu in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area, Imo State on Sunday.
“It is most regrettable that court orders are honored in the breach,” the clergyman said.
“Similarly, inflammatory statements by the political class are capable of not only truncating the nation’s democracy but likely to plunge the country into anarchy and another civil war.”
He said God would not take kindly with anyone or group, through whose actions and utterances the nation was plunged into a civil war, he stressed that “Nigeria is pregnant and nobody knows what it [would] deliver.”
