BMW has announced that it will recall 16 examples of the popular 2015 i8 hybrid sports car due to an issue with the stability control system.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has discovered that the dynamic stability control system's hydraulic unit may have improperly drilled holes in it. There's a chance that this issue could negatively affect how the DSC system controls the car's brakes in an emergency.

Thankfully, no injuries or deaths relating to the issue have been reported and it's been confirmed that BMW dealerships will replace the DSC hydraulic unit if necessary.

The i8 models affected were built between May 29, 2015 and June 5, 2015 and this actually happens to be the i8's second recall. In late 2014, 223 units were recalled by dealers due to a potential fuel leak.
