Ex-Governor Kure: body arrives for burial Wednesday
The remains of former Governor of Niger state, Alhaji Abdulkadir Kure, on Tuesday arrived in Minna from Germany for burial.
The body arrived at the Minna International Airport at about 8:24 p.m. in a chartered plane with registration number 5N-FCT.
The NAN reports that the body had earlier arrived in Abuja from Germany at about 7:15 p.m. en route Minna.
It was accompanied by the wife, Sen. Zainab Kure and Rep Umar Bago.
The body was received in Minna by Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger and his Deputy, Alhaji Ketso and other members of the state executive council.
Others were Alhaji Umar Bago, Emir of Lapai; Emir of Agaie, Alhaji Yusuf and Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umar Farqu.
Also in attendance were leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the immediate past state Governor, Babangida Aliyu.
The remains of the former governor would be interred on Wednesday in Minna and a 3-day Fida’u prayers would be offered at Minna Central Mosque for the repose of the his soul.
Kure died on Sunday in a German hospital after a brief illness.
