Arsenal have always been a huge scalp in English football and remain the only top flight club never to have been relegated after over a century and counting of consecutive seasons at the top-tier.
Like any club, there are a handful of players over the years who the Gunners simply couldn't find an answer to.
Here's a look at 10 'bogey men' who have scored the most goals against the Gunners in the Premier League era...
10. Dwight Yorke - 7 Goals
23 Premier League games vs Arsenal
Dwight Yorke scored Premier League goals against Arsenal for Aston Villa, Manchester United and Blackburn during his lengthy career in England, only failing to find the net in games against the Gunners while playing for Sunderland in his later years.
Arguably his most famous single game came during the 2000/01 season when he scored a hat-trick and assisted another during a 6-1 thrashing of Arsenal at Old Trafford.
9. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink - 7 Goals
15 Premier League games vs Arsenal
Two-time Premier League Golden Boot winner Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink scored in five of his six appearances against Arsenal for Leeds and later Chelsea, split either side of the season that he spent in Spain with Atletico Madrid in 1999/00.
After another strike for Chelsea early in the 2001/02 season, the powerful Dutchman only scored once more past them. That came for Middlesbrough in a 5-3 Arsenal win in 2004/05.
8. Nicolas Anelka - 7 Goals
15 Premier League games vs Arsenal
It was while with Arsenal as an emerging talent that Nicolas Anelka announced himself to the world, but the Frenchman later came back to haunt his former club by scoring seven times against them in the Premier League for other teams.
Anelka was on target against Arsenal for Manchester City, Bolton and Chelsea over the years. He also played against them without scoring for Liverpool and West Brom.
7. Darren Bent - 7 Goals
12 Premier League games vs Arsenal
Darren Bent arguably didn't get the credit he deserved as a top goalscorer during his Premier League career, with injury eventually slowing him down in later years.
Bent found the net against Arsenal seven times in only 12 games during spells with Charlton, Tottenham, Sunderland, Aston Villa and Fulham. Fortunately for the Gunners, he was only on the winning side against them twice.
6. Harry Kane - 7 Goals
7 Premier League games vs Arsenal
Arsenal have been given nightmares by Harry Kane, once a Gunner's youth team player, in north London Derby games in recent years, with the Tottenham hero so far averaging a goal a game when faced with them in the Premier League.
Kane scored a brace the first time he played against Arsenal at senior level and has only once been on the losing side in league fixtures. That game, last season, is also the only one he hasn't scored in.
5. Teddy Sheringham - 8 Goals
21 Premier League games vs Arsenal
Teddy Sheringham was another player with strong Tottenham connections who was often on song against Arsenal, helping Spurs win four north London Derbies out of eight in the first four seasons of the Premier League era in the 1990s.
He also found the net against Arsenal during his time at Manchester United, upon his return to Spurs, and even later at Portsmouth at the advanced age of 37 during the 2003/04 season.
4. Didier Drogba - 8 Goals
12 Premier League games vs Arsenal
Despite his two Premier League Golden Boot awards, Didier Drogba was not generally a prolific striker, only twice scoring more than 12 goals in a single league season with Chelsea. And yet the Ivorian icon was usually on the score-sheet against Arsenal.
Chelsea beat Arsenal 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium and 2-0 at Stamford Bridge during the 2009/10 campaign, with Drogba alone scoring four of the five total goals.
3. Peter Crouch - 9 Goals
23 Premier League games vs Arsenal
Perhaps a surprising name for this list is Peter Crouch, who has scored against Arsenal for Southampton, Liverpool and Stoke during his Premier League career. In fact, only two other players have scored more past the Gunners than the lanky Englishman.
Crouch famously netted a hat-trick in one game for Liverpool in the 2006/07 season as the Reds ran out comfortable 4-1 winners at Anfield.
2. Robbie Fowler - 10 Goals
18 Premier League games vs Arsenal
Former Liverpool star Robbie Fowler once went on a run of seven goals in just three games against Arsenal in the mid 1990s, netting hat-tricks when the Gunners visited Anfield in both the 1994/95 and the 1995/96 season.
Fowler scored further goals against Arsenal for Liverpool in the 1999/00 and 2000/01 campaigns, before his 10th and final goal later came while wearing the Leeds colours.
1. Wayne Rooney - 12 Goals
29 Premier League games vs Arsenal
The goal that Wayne Rooney scored against Arsenal as a 16-year-old in October 2002 is one of the most iconic pieces of footage in Premier League history and was the first of 12 goals the boyhood Evertonian would go on to net in league games against the Gunners.
Rooney scored a hat-trick in the 8-2 drubbing that Arsenal suffered at Old Trafford early in the 2011/12 season, while he also provided six assists for others to score over the years as well.
