Borno State Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Opadokun, confirmed the attack to The Sun yesterday, saying: “Reports received from a member of Civilian JTF in Damboa Local Government Area indicates on October 10 about 1900 hours, that unknown gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram invaded Kirkasama village about two kilometres from Damboa town, attacked and shot dead two people.”
The CP disclosed that a man, 80, and a nine-year-old boy were among the dead. He said the insurgents arrived as the duo “were eating together at the entrance of their house.”
He, however, said three people, who sustained injuries “are now on admission for treatment at General Hospital, Biu.
