Pastor Samson Bamgbose, 25, was, yesterday, arraigned earlier than an Abeokuta Chief Magistrate Court, Isabo, Ogun State for allegedly inflicting the demise of a church member, who drowned throughout a religious tub.
Bamgbose is a pastor on the Celestial Church of Christ, Alaapa.
He is going through a one-count cost of negligence.
The police prosecutor, Mr. Paul Etusi, instructed the court docket that the offence was dedicated on August 15 at 3p.m. in Ogun River, Alaapa village, Abeokuta.
As acknowledged by him, the accused took some church members, together with the deceased, Toheeb Odusanya, 13, to the river for religious tub.
"Bamgbose took the little boy to the river with out his mum or dad's consent. He didn't take the required precaution, and allowed the boy to drown," the prosecutor acknowledged.
Etusi stated the offence contravened part 344 of the Criminal Code of Ogun, 2006.
The accused, nonetheless, pleaded not responsible.
The Justice of the Peace, Mr Anthony Araba, granted the accused bail within the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until the 2nd of October.
