Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has signed an extension to his contract tying him to them until 2021, the club have confirmed.

The Argentinian head coach still had three years to run on his current deal at White Hart Lane but the north London outfit have offered extended terms after leading Spurs to second spot in the Premier League this season.

Tottenham can record their most successive Premier League campaign since its inception next weekend when they face Newcastle and the former Southampton and Espanyol boss has been rewarded for his work.

"I could not be happier to sign this new contract," Pochettino told the club.

"It was an easy decision for my coaching staff and I because we can feel the appreciation of everyone here. T

here is no better place to be right now.

"The supporters are unbelievable, we have assembled a great squad of players with huge potential that can get even better, while the facilities we have to work in are world-class.

"We also have an incredible new stadium to look forward to and now we are determined to build a side worthy of playing inside such an exciting new venue.

"We have enjoyed a great season and we believe this is just the beginning. We have a long-term project and huge belief that we can achieve something big here for the future.

"This club has all the ingredients to continue to challenge at the very top in the Premier League and in Europe and we want to be here to be a part of what I believe will be a special period in the club's history."

Pochettino has revolutionised Tottenham's on-pitch fortunes since his switch from the Saints in May 2014, leading them to the cusp of the Champions League last year before bettering that form during the 2015-16 season.

The 44-year-old has been lauded for his use of young English players during his tenure in England and has aided the development and breakthrough of several talented prospects such as Harry Kane, Eric Dier and Dele Alli.

Despite recent rumours suggesting Manchester United were interested in taking Pochettino on board in the off-season, the Spurs coach has now dismissed any possibility of a move away....
