Reports reaching us say there is tension in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital at the moment as governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress Mr. Dakuku Peterside and that of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Nyisom Wike, have stormed the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission over plan to collate what the APC has described as a fake result for the presidential and National Assembly elections. It all started when words went round to the APC leaders in the state that despite the fact that elections did not hold in the state on Saturday, they got information of a plan from Abuja to have the INEC announce a result which would declare all the candidates of the PDP for the National Assembly and the presidency as winners. Despite the fact that there were no elections on Saturday, they got information that the election results which were not made available for the election had been distributed to some PDP leaders and were already filling them, Dakuku explained. A Senator from the state, Magnus Abe, stated they all saw Wike driving into the INEC office while no APC leader including Peterside was allowed to enter into the office. At some point, gunshots rang out while a vehicle was stated to have driven Wike out of the place. However, the people refused to disperse saying "Our intention is to occupy them till tomorrow morning." Peterside said: "We just want to vote. You can see we have been peaceful all along and we will remain peaceful."
