Former Governor of Plateau State Jonah Jang has accused President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of destroying Nigeria’s democracy.
Speaking to newsmen, Senator Jang (PDP-Plateau North) stated the democracy that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) labored for previously 16 years is dying.
He stated: “I'm the senator representing Plateau North, I could also be re-contesting the Senate, and I could also be contesting a greater place.
“That determination is within the making and the PDP is working very exhausting to win the election on the Plateau and I'm a key determine right here on the Plateau.
“So, there appears to be a very deliberate plan to get me out of the best way in order that I don’t take part in any of the electoral processes.
“I simply need to make it very clear that if that is the best way our politics goes to be, then I'm sorry to say that the democracy that we labored exhausting for is dying.
“I used to be a part of the G-18, G-34, that fought for this democracy to return, and the G34 fashioned the PDP, and PDP nurtured democracy for 16 years.
“But now, the APC as a party has come and needs to destroy it by making an attempt to be sure that there isn't any opposition.
“They want Nigeria to become a one party state, and I believe that this is a subtle way of destroying democracy in Nigeria.”
