President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday known as on the South West caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to hold out each respectable step to win again Ekiti state.
He gave the cost throughout a dinner assembly with the party’s management within the southwest on the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Among these on the dinner had been Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, National Leader of the party Bola Tinubu and National Chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
Immediate previous governor of the state Kayode Fayeme, who's presently the minister for Mines and Steel Resources, on Saturday emerged as candidate of the APC for the July 14 governorship election within the state.
And Buhari believes Fayemi has what it takes to revive what he believes are the misplaced values of the state.
“I know Ekiti fairly well and Ekiti people are well known for their forthrightness, candour and integrity,” he mentioned.
“All of those values appear to have been misplaced and we should restore these values and return Ekiti to its delight of place within the comity of states.
“As we method the 2019 elections, the return of Ekiti into the fold of progressive states is essential because the election of July 14 goes to be a key pointer to subsequent elections,” he mentioned.
The President reechoed his coverage of not interfering within the inner affairs of the party at any stage, commending Fayemi for reaching out to his co-contestants after Saturday’s main election.
