President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday authorised the nomination of Folashodun Shonubi as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria topic to Senate affirmation.
The approval was contained in an assertion by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
Shonubi is at present the Managing Director of the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc – the monetary funds, facilitation and settlement platform – which has been instrumental to the expansion in digital funds within the Nigerian monetary trade.
Before assuming the management of NIBBS in 2012, Shonubi had gathered many years of executive-level expertise in monetary service operations, notably as Executive Director at Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, Renaissance Securities Nigeria Ltd and Ecobank Nigeria Plc.
