"Will Grigg's on fire" might have been the most pervasive chant at Euro 2016 but the man himself never got a chance to prove it.
Northern Ireland were eliminated on Saturday after being beaten 1-0 by Wales in the last 16 and manager Michael O'Neill once again elected to leave the Wigan striker on the bench.
While the decision left many fans disappointed, none were as furious as Grigg's brother, Dan, who let off his anger on Twitter as he swore at O'Neill and pointed out Will's goalscoring form compared to the other forwards in the squad.
"F****** joke!!" he fumed in a tweet that he has since deleted. "F*** off MON [O'Neill]. Twenty goals in 2016. Washington zero, Lafferty one, Magennis four. Why not just give him one f****** chance? Bulls***."
Grigg had been in superb form for Wigan in the run-up to the tournament, finishing at the top of League One's scoring charts as his goals fired the Latics to promotion back into the Championship.
The chant, an adaptation of Gala's 'Freed from Desire', has swept both the United Kingdom in the run-up to the tournament and then the rest of Europe as it spread through fan zones in France.
Even Germany centre-back Mats Hummels, though denying that he and his fellow defenders were "terrified", voiced a desire to swap shirts with the Northern Irishman.
