The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has reiterated his earlier warning to Army personnel to steer clear from politics and politicians.
The Army boss made this identified when he declared open the 18th Conflict Management and Peace Support Seminar of the Nigerian Army College of Logistics (NACOL), in Lagos on Monday.
Buratai urged commanders of the pressure to offer the requisite management and guarantee their personnel are reminded to uphold army professionalism.
“Commanders, at all levels, must ensure their personnel are apolitical, uphold the tenets of military professionalism and be guided by the provision of the constitution,” the military chief, who was represented by the Chief of Army Standard and Evaluation, Major General Adekunle Shodunke, stated.
The Chief of Army additionally lamented the conflict between herdsmen and farmers within the Middle Belt areas of the nation, which had led to misplaced of lives and valuables, assuring that the military will not stop to play its position in resolving the battle and put in place measures for the protected return of displaced farmers to their properties and farmlands.
Buratai additional assured that the military would proceed to uphold the tenets of democracy, adjust to rule of engagement and code of conduct throughout any army help to civil authority.
