The 34-year-old goalkeeper admits he is frustrated by not being first choice at the Etihad Stadium and hopes to join another team in England in order to gain playing time
Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero says he will look to leave the club in the near future if he does not earn more first-team football.
The Argentine goalkeeper, who joined the Premier League side from Malaga in 2014, has featured just 12 times for City this season.
The 34-year-old has been unable to dislodge Joe Hart as Manuel Pellegrini's first choice shot-stopper and believes it is time to look elsewhere for regular playing time, admitting he would like to remain in England.
"I¹m not thinking about moving back to Argentina," he is quoted as saying by The Sun.
"I'm enjoying my time here. I would like to keep playing here at Man City.
"But if I can¹t play regularly for Man City, then I would like to play for another team here in the Premier League.
"It¹s tough to be the second goalkeeper. But since I joined Man City I have been fighting for the spot.
"Hart has done so well. Nevertheless, I keep fighting because I want my spot."
Caballero worked with City coach Manuel Pellegrini in Spain but their partnership will come to an end after this season as the Chilean will make way for incoming boss Pep Guardiola.
And Caballero insists the players will always support their current manager.
"Although Manuel had another year in his contract with Man City, there were already many rumours about this new coach coming.
"I think we weren¹t affected by this news. We have to accept it. But let me tell you we support Manuel until the end."
