The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Friday suspended its nationwide protest earlier fixed for July 11, barely 24 hours after calling for it.
The body’s president Rev. Samson Olasupo said the suspension was due to some circumstances beyond CAN’s control.
Speaking through a statement, the cleric, however, stated that the 3-day prayer and fasting would still hold as scheduled for July 9-11, 2018 in all churches and state chapters of the association.
CAN had called for prayers and fasting over the state of Nigeria, particularly the failure of the federal government to end killings by herdsmen in the country.
