The former Liverpool and Chelsea forward says helping Atletico Madrid win their first ever Champions League crown remains his main focus during the current campaign
Fernando Torres says winning the Champions League is Atletico Madrid's top priority this season.
Diego Simeone's men booked their place in their quarter-finals of the tournament for the third season in a row by edging PSV on penalties after a 0-0 stalemate over two legs.
Although Atleti are currently second in La Liga, they trail Barcelona by eight points and therefore their best chance of winning silverware in the current campaign looks to be in European competition.
And Torres says it is his side's dream to go one further than finishing as runners-up in 2013/14 and win the club's first ever Champions League this term.
"This [winning the Champions League] is the dream since 1903 [when] this club was created," he said. "I think through the whole history we dream to win this competition.
"This is the dream we all have. Now we are in the last eight and it's the competition we want to win.
"We have to keep focused on the league but this is the competition everyone wants to win, especially in Atletico."
Torres has previous experience of winning Europe's elite club competition, helping Chelsea win their maiden Champions League trophy in 2012.
