Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President has reacted to Super Eagles loss to Morocco, at this year’s African Nations Championship, CHAN.

The former Vice President described the defeat of the Super Eagles as a loss to all Nigerians.

In a tweet via his Twitter handle, the Waziri of Adamawa, however, commended the Super Eagles, saying “you fought bravely.”

He also commended them for taking Nigeria to the final of the tournament.

“Sad loss for all of us. You fought bravely. Thanks for bringing Nigeria all the way to the finals @NGSuperEagles,” he wrote.

The hosts thrashed Nigeria 4-0 in the final played on Sunday in Casabalanca, to win the competition for the first time.

Zakaria Hadraf opened scoring for the North Africans in the 43rd minute, before the home-based Super Eagles were reduced to 10 men, after Peter Eneji picked up a second booking.

Walid El Karti ensured the Nigerians had a mountain to climb with the second goal in the 61st minute.

Two minutes later, Hadraf grabbed his second of the night.

Ayoub Kaabi added the fourth.
