Wales international striker Ched Evans has joined his first club since his release from prison, signing for League One side Chesterfield.
The 27-year-old was convicted of rape in April 2012 and has struggled to find a new club since his release in October 2014, with moves to Sheffield United, Hartlepool and Oldham having fallen through.
However, the former Manchester City and Norwich City player has signed a one-year contract with an option for a further season with Chesterfield.
"I am very excited and privileged to be resuming my career at Chesterfield and I hope to make a valuable contribution both on and off the pitch for the football club, the fans and the community," Evans said, commenting on his return to football.
Meanwhile, chairman Dave Allen told the club's official website: "We are delighted to have secured the services of an outstanding footballer, who is now keen to get back to work and score goals."
