They were being sold from a stall on private property next to the street and were in no way officially linked to Chelsea.

The Kane T-shirt shows the Tottenham striker dressed as a Hasidic Jew and the slogan: "He's one of our own" - a reference to the song Spurs fans sing about the England international and the fact that many of the club's supporters are drawn from the Jewish community. Tottenham are regularly subjected to anti-Semitic chanting by rival fans.

Katrina Law, a representative from the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust, said: "It's hugely disappointing that in 2016 anyone could think this was acceptable.

"There's often an edge to football humour but there is also a line which we're sure the vast majority of Chelsea fans would recognise.

"We trust appropriate actions will be taken by Hammersmith and Fulham Council Trading Standards and by Chelsea."

The Wenger T-shirt features a picture of the Arsenal manager wearing shorts and the legend: "With a packet of sweets and a cheeky smile".

That is a reference to an abusive song regularly aimed at Wenger accusing him of being a paedophile. In 2011, Wenger said that he had "heard [vile chants] so much that I’m a bit immune.”
