The 19-year-old has impressed since moving to La Liga on a temporary deal and now claims it would be better for his development if he were to stay in Spain
Chelseaβs on-loan midfielder Charly Musonda insists he wants to stay at Real Betis for another season.
Musonda has made an immediate impact since joining Betis on loan at the end of January, with the Spanish club unbeaten the six league games in which the 19-year-old has started in.
The attacking midfielder has not yet made his senior debut for Chelsea but believes staying at Betis would be more beneficial to his career than to return to Stamford Bridge in order to feature for the reserve team.
βI want to stay at Betis. Itβs in my head now, but next year I donβt know what will happen,β he told Canal Sur.
βIβm happy here, the BΓ©ticos want me. You never know about the future, but itβs possible that I can stay. Itβs better to play here than in Chelseaβs second team.
βMy favourite clubs are from here, from Spain. Since I was young I liked Barcelona and Real Madrid. I learned Spanish so I could come here. I play for Betis and I am happy."
Musonda recently rejected a call-up to Zambiaβs national team, and amid claims that Belgium boss Marc Wilmots is keeping an eye on his ahead of Euro 2016, the midfielder maintains his options are open.
βI could play for Belgium, Zambia and England. I never lived in Zambia,β he said.
βThe decision will be made in the future. I am the one who decides about it. With my father do not talk about football, he tells me to stay focused and enjoy.β
