Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta claims this season's Champions League tie against Chelsea will be more difficult without the Portuguese in charge
Thiago Motta has aimed a dig at Jose Mourinho by claiming that Chelsea’s players “didn’t want the ball” when the Portuguese was in charge at Stamford Bridge.
For the third season in a row, Chelsea meet Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League as the first leg of their last-16 tie gets under way later this month.
Chelsea were dumped out of the competition by the French champions last season, but Motta believes their task this year is trickier without Mourinho.
"It's more difficult without Mourinho," Motta told RMC.
"They've changed their game. When we played them in the last two seasons, they were a team who played on the counter and didn't want the ball.
"Nowadays, they're a team that tries to play. It will be difficult."
