The Southampton striker, who has made all of his 11 national team caps under the 46-year-old coach, believes he will be a success should he move to the Premier League

Chelsea will acquire a "winner" should they hire Antonio Conte as their new manager this summer, according to Italy striker Graziano Pelle.

Conte announced in March that he will step down from his position as manager of Italy following Euro 2016, with Stamford Bridge expected to be his destination upon his return to club football.

Southampton striker Pelle, who was handed his national team debut under Conte in October 2014, feels the 46-year-old would be a success in the Premier League should he join the Blues.

"The coach has the qualities to do well in any tournament. If he does choose to come to the Premier League then he’ll be very welcome,” he told Rai Sport.

"It’s a tough league, but I am convinced Conte will do well.

"I advise him to be himself, as he is a winner and changing culture or league won’t modify his attitude. He just needs to change his language! So I advise him to study English.

"The English press is really hard when it comes to gossip, but on that score I don’t think the coach has anything to worry about.

"When it comes to talking about football, I think Italian media might be tougher, but it’s only to be expected in the sport."

While expressing no concerns over Conte's ability to manage in the Premier League, Pelle is relaxed about his replacement as head coach of Italy's national team.

He said: "Claudio Ranieri is currently top of the Premier League with Leicester City, confirming Italy has so many excellent coaches.

"I am therefore not worried and am confident Italy’s next coach will do very well, whoever he is."
