In a disturbing case that shocked a quiet London suburb, Javan Lee, 38, has been convicted of the brutal murder of his housemate, Corey Graham, 48. The conviction comes after harrowing CCTV footage surfaced, showing Lee calmly walking down a residential street, covered in blood, moments after the fatal stabbing.

Tragic Dispute Escalates to Homicide in Harrow

The horrific incident unfolded in October 2024 at the shared residence on Sussex Road, Harrow. Police were called on October 30 to reports of a man having been stabbed multiple times in the front garden. Corey Graham, the victim, sustained twelve stab wounds and, despite being rushed to hospital, succumbed to his injuries the following day.

Upon arrival, officers encountered Lee at the scene. He attempted to mislead authorities by providing a false name and denying any involvement in the incident. Ordered to wait in his bedroom, Lee then made a brazen escape through a window, leading police on a six-hour manhunt.

CCTV Evidence Seals Murderer's Fate

Lee was eventually apprehended, still attempting to feign ignorance regarding Mr. Graham's death. However, investigators soon discovered the two men were housemates, leading to Lee's arrest on suspicion of attempted murder. The pivotal piece of evidence that secured his conviction was the chilling CCTV footage. This showed Lee, visibly drenched in blood, traversing residential streets while still carrying the knife used in the attack. He later disposed of the weapon and returned home to wash his bloodied clothes before police arrived.

Further investigation revealed a history of arguments between the housemates. Text messages exchanged between Mr. Graham and Lee indicated ongoing disputes, including Mr. Graham reporting Lee for creating a mess in their shared accommodation just prior to the fatal confrontation. Ironically, Lee himself had called the police to complain about Mr. Graham moments before committing the ultimate act.

Justice Served: Detective Praises Investigation

Detective Sergeant Matt Russell reflected on the tragedy, stating, ‘Our thoughts today are with the family of Mr Graham, who lost a loved one in such brutal circumstances, following an apparently trivial dispute between the men.’ Russell emphasized the significance of the recovered CCTV: ‘During the investigation, officers recovered CCTV of Lee walking along nearby residential streets just after the murder, covered in blood and carrying a knife. This graphically demonstrates his brazenness.’

He continued, ‘Lee has shown cowardice and contempt towards his victim. Although he had taken steps to conceal his involvement, evidence obtained by investigators was used to establish his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. I would like to thank the investigation team for their hard work bringing Lee to justice.’
