After a successful debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show last month, the Chinese automotive R&D company is currently investigating locations for its European production base.
To jog your memory, Techrules showed up in Geneva with an all-new patent-protected hybrid powertrain system called TREV (Turbine-Recharging Electric Vehicle), supposed to deliver "unprecedented levels of efficiency and performance."
In terms of specs, we're looking at a claimed 1,044 PS plus an autonomy of well over 2,000 km (1,200 miles) - all while able to propel a hybrid supercar to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.5 seconds before maxing out at a restricted 350 km/h (218 mph).
In order to get the ball rolling on producing their first low-volume supercar, Techrules has appointed a small team to identify specific locations in Europe, which include currently existing production sites that are or will soon become vacant.
The plan is to have China's first ever supercar (featuring TREV tech) on the road in the next two-to-three years, though afterwards the company did say they'll be focusing mainly on higher volume city cars.
