Former Education Minister Oby Ezekwesili has described China’s loans to African nations as “bad deals” that would ruin the continent.
China is spreading its tentacles wider in Africa with the recent being a $60 billion deal to bankroll businesses.
President Muhammadu Buhari is presently in China where he is discussing business deals with the Asian nation.
However, in a tweet on Tuesday, Ezekwesili said the loans are bad as African leaders are ignorant.
“The Chinese KNOW EXACTLY what they are doing,” the Bring Back Our Girls coordinator posted on Twitter.
“If you read their Loan Agreements with African countries, you will see how TIGHT they cover their exposure.
“Meanwhile, our own Leaders go there to naively, gleefully and with [a] huge dose of inferiority complex, sign on to BAD DEALS.”
