Sebastien Corchia is thrilled to have been linked with a potential summer move to Paris Saint-Germain but has reiterated that his chief focus remains on helping Lille qualify for Europe next season.

A run of one defeat in 14 league matches has helped push Lille into European contention and during this spell the right-back has continually impressed.

That has resulted in the player once coveted by Inter and Juventus now being linked with a move to the French champions.

“When I hear rumours about PSG, of course I notice them,” Corchia, 25, told Goal. “PSG is the biggest club in France and has massive international ambitions, I am from Paris, and I used to play for PSG as a youth player. But it is not something that I think about.

“I am very flattered by the interest in me from other clubs, and it is nice to hear from my agent that big clubs are asking about me. But I never ask him about which clubs.

“It is a bit like the France team. It is nice that people mention your name, and of course it would make me proud to be selected one day.

"But my focus is on working hard every day with my club to always develop myself and to perform to my best level on the pitch for LOSC.

“It is nice because the interest shows that I am doing something right on the pitch, but right now my only focus is LOSC.

“I feel fantastic just now – Lille is a great club. I am not in any way actively looking for a new team and next season looks very exciting for our team.”

On Saturday, Lille have the chance to take advantage of their closest rivals, Nice and Saint-Etienne, playing each other and know they will jump at least one place in the standings if they overcome Guingamp. It is a challenge the right-back is looking forward to.

“I enjoy being part of a great unit that is just getting better and better. I can see great success for us next season, if this group stay together,” he continued.

“We have collected 22 of 24 possible points in our last eight league games, and we want to continue this excellent streak. Right now we want to qualify for Europe, even though that sounded completely impossible just a few months ago. Next season? Who knows? We have great potential here.

“This has been my best season ever. I feel that I have benefit from the combination of being physically at my peak and the experience of having played more than 200 league games already.”
