The Cross River State Ministry of Health has confirmed the death of one corps member, Onwuegbuzie Stanley Samuel, who had served in Obubura Local Government Area of the State from Lasa Fever.
As stated by the Ministry, the late Stanley who was an indigene of Delta State became ill about a week ago and was admitted at the Ogoja General Hospital after being treated for Malaria.
Addressing journalists in Calabar, the State Capital, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Asibong Inyang, said Samuel later got transferred to the University of Calabar Hospital where he died following a diagnosis of the disease.
Dr Asibong gave the assurance that the ministry is on top of the situation and the state government had taken steps to avert a recurrence.
