The Caretaker Chairman of Gwer-East local government council in Benue State, Hon. Dele Uzuku has joined the bandwagon of those calling on Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki to tender his resignation if found guilty of the charges leveled against him.
Uzuku revealed that the change mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration is determined to get rid of corruption at every strata in the society stressing that, no one shall be spared when found guilty of corruption.
The APC Chieftain further averred that if the charges against Saraki before the Code of conduct tribunal, CCT is proven beyond any reasonable doubt and he is found guilty, he should be punished.
He maintained that Saraki as the number three citizen in the country knows the implication of the allegations of wrong declaration of assets and should face the consequences of his action and should let law takes its course.
He implored officials of the CCT to also investigate the matter thoroughly and establish the case on its merit adding that, it had taken long to uncover the ambiguity all these years.
Uzuku said “anyone who fails to give accurate account of his assets is liable for an offence no matter whose ox is gore and must be sanctioned and punitive measures meted out accordingly.”
