The Adamawa State High court sitting in Yola, the state capital has fixed May 25th, 2016 to rule on the case of Hama Bata traditional council before the court.

The former Commissioner for Special Duties under the administration of Murtala Nyako, Mr. Medan Teneke, younger brother to the Hama Bata Homun, Alhamadu Glastone Teneke, returned to court six years after he withdrew the same case.

Counsel to the defendant, Akanmode Abayomi, in his argument asked the court to strike out the case citing abuse of court procedures and that the plaintiff lacked the legal backing to challenge the selection of the Hama Bata Homun, pointing out that evidence proved that the plaintiff was not a contestant for the stool he is claiming.

Abayomi argued that if the court revisited the case that was voluntarily withdrew by the plaintiff for reasons best know to him the court will be creating rooms for people to equate courts with markets. He urged the court to strike out the case.
