Palliatives brought by the Nigerian Government for 50,000 households in Kano State have been exposed to three rounds of rainfall, The Guardian reports.
The food items meant to help cushion the effect of the Coronavirus lockdown, were donated by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development on May 17 and have been left in an open warehouse at the premises of the Kano Agricultural Supply Company..
“Several people are living hungry because they can't go to fetch for their daily sources of livelihood. Government brought the food to assist people however, look at the items here under the rain and in the sun.
“How can people be starving and food meant for them left idle. This is wrong,” a source said.
