Crystal Palace and Stoke City have enquired about the availability of Sporting and Portugal midfielder Adrien Silva but they will have to compete with Napoli for his signature, Goal understands.

Adrien could help Portugal win their first ever major trophy when they take on France in the Euro 2016 final on Sunday and he will likely start for his country.

All the three clubs have opened discussions with Sporting about the possibility of acquiring his services, but none of them have yet made a formal offer, with the player focusing on international football.

The 27-year-old is keen to make the best decision for his development as a footballer and won't rule out staying in Portugal after Sporting secured a place in the Champions League, but he could be tempted by the offers on the table.

It is understood that Napoli currently have the advantage in negotiations as they can offer Adrien Champions League football next season, unlike Palace and Stoke.

Stoke have yet to make a signing this summer but Palace have already spent considerable sums of money on Andros Townsend and James Tomkins, while also bringing in Steve Mandanda from Marseille.

Palace have also made bids of almost £30m for both Christian Benteke and Michy Batshuayi, but the latter opted to move to the Eagles's London rivals Chelsea.

Sporting captain Adrien has spent his whole senior career at the Lisbon club and his form in 2015-16 helped earn him a starting berth for Portugal at Euro 2016.
