Even though we’re used to seeing Dahler get the best out of certain BMW models, it appears that the German tuner focused its engineering expertise on the exclusive Roding Roadster R1 as well.

For those of you who don’t know what a Roding Roadster is, allow us to explain: Made by Roding Automobile GmbH, the Roadster is a two-seater medium-sized, mid-engine sports car with a carbon chassis, made to perform on the track.

The collaboration between both companies was possible thanks to Dahler’s years of experience in optimizing BMW engines, as the aforementioned sports car is powered by a Bavarian-built powerplant. Actually, it was purposefully designed by BMW to fit in the transverse layout of the Roding Roadster, instead of the longitudinal like in its own models.

Daehler Design & Technik GmbH is offering the BMW N54 straight six-cylinder in two stages of tune: with 408 HP (402 hp), 540 Nm of torque and a maximum speed of 300 km/h (186 mph), and 450 HP (443 hp), 620 Nm of torque and a 310 km/h (192 mph) top speed.

If you think that’s plenty of grunt, just imagine that the vehicles weighs below 950 kg – which translates to a power to weight ratio below 3 kg/HP. Now, that's more like it, right?
