NASCAR’s throwing some quite strange stories involving some if its legends, and we're talking about the ones away from the ovals.
Last year Kurt Busch testified under oath that his ex-girlfriend was a trained assassin (!) and now the widow of the late Dale Earnhardt Sr. Teresa, wants to stop her stepson from… using his dad’s name.

As Motorsport reports, Teresa Earnhardt has filed an appeal to the US Court of Appeals, contesting the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board dismissal of her claim that Kerry Earnhardt, a former NASCSAR pro driver, too, and his wife, Renee, should not use the famous name in their own business. The TTAB’s decision last March was that “the opposer did not offer any testimony or evidence that the goods and services in the registrations were related to applicant’s goods and services”.

Her insistence in blocking Dale Sr.’s son (from his first marriage) to use his very own surname was, naturally, the object of attacks on social media.
“Hate that my brother and family have to deal with this nonsense for over 4 years. It’s our name too! We were born with it!”, daughter Keeley Earnhardt tweeted, while others echoed her opinion.

NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Sr., aka The Terminator, lost his life at the 2001 Daytona 500 only three laps before the end of the race.
