The Brazil international has come up against some of the finest players the world has ever seen but ranks the Liverpool star as the man who posed him the most problems
Barcelona defender Dani Alves believes James Milner is the toughest opponent he has faced during his professional career.
Despite coming up against the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Arjen Robben during his time at Camp Nou, the Brazil international believes the Liverpool midfielder's work-rate makes him stand out from the crowd.
And having played against him in the Champions League while Milner was at Manchester City, Alves has no doubts that the England man was the most frustrating player to play against.
"I have faced many, but the most annoying was James Milner," he told The Times. "He follows you forward and follows you backwards. It’s very difficult because he attacks you and defends you, and then attacks you and defends you again."
