Former Senate President David Mark has finally appeared in court personally to defend his fifth term victory.

However, the embattled senator denied to enter the witness box.

Kenneth Ikonne, Mark’s Counsel, had told the Benue South tribunal that his client would be appearing in person to testify on August 18..

Recall that Mark was taken to the tribunal by his only contender, Dan Onjeh of the All Progressives Congress, who contested the Benue South senatorial seat. Onjeh had claimed that the polls were marred by several indiscretions and substantial breaches of the Electoral Act 2011 as amended.

He also avowed that INEC personnel were cooperated and voters were ficially induced by the PDP agents at the different polling units in the district.

The petitioner, therefore, advised the court to annul the poll and order for fresh election.
