Ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar has labeled the demolition of Music House owned by musician Yinka Ayefele as “saddening.”
Ayefele’s radio station was on Saturday destroyed by the Oyo State Government over disobedience to urban planning laws.
Speaking on the issue, Atiku said the demolition would trigger unemployment as freedom of the press is “sacrosanct.”
“The reports of the demolition of a radio station in Oyo fills me with a deep sadness. Press freedom is sacrosanct,” he posted on Twitter.
“It’s equally saddening that at a time when jobs are badly needed, a radio station which was providing jobs is needlessly demolished.”
