Disneyland’s Autopia is back on the road again after shutting down in January for a makeover, and this time, they’ve got Honda on board as a new sponsor.
Autopia, the only existing Tomorrowland attraction dating back to the opening day in 1955, was one of many Disneyland attractions that were temporarily closed for refurbishment as the theme park underwent a number of upgrades and updates.

Honda’s involvement as a sponsor brings the Japanese brand’s engines, badges and a fresh lick of paint to the minicars, along with an update to the attraction's look and storyline.

You’d think that Disneyland would go for battery-powered minicars, because, you know, that’s kind of what we expect from a place called ‘Tomorrowland’, but they’re sticking to gasoline-fueled engines – for now, at least – with Honda saying that these motors are “clean and fuel efficient”.

Speaking about Honda’s sponsorship of the attraction, Steve Morikawa, American Honda Motor Vice President of Corporate and Community Relations, commented:

“Honda is proud to support the refurbishment of Autopia —a truly iconic part of the Disneyland Park experience. As the world's largest engine maker and as a mobility company, we are energized and enthused by this opportunity to ensure that the joy of mobility, powered by Honda, will be part of the Disneyland Park experience for years to come.”
