Not that long ago, German tuner DMC teased a wide-body AMG-branded G-Wagon, destined to test its might against Mansory’s Gronos model. Now that the Zeus has been finally unveiled, the epic battle can commence.

But truth be told, DMC’s take on the matter looks like a crude interpretation of Mansory’s product, especially as the latter seems more chiseled and congealed. That said, DMC’s recipe is as expected, with a full carbon-fiber wide body kit – composed of a front grille, hood, rear diffuser, front lip, front and rear bumpers, and widened fenders – governing the overall aspect, making the automobile the widest G-Class in the world (a particular appealing characteristic, apparently).

Still, the white and widened Zeus boasts 880 PS (867 hp) from its revised 5,461 cc (333 cu in) V8 twin turbo – which is a tad more than Gronos’ power figure. But are 44 extra horsepower enough to give it an advantage? On paper, yes, but in the real world the differences between the two will probably be insignificant.

So, if the regular G63 AMG isn’t enough for you, now there is another outrageous offering, capable of rewriting what you knew about powerful, heavy SUVs. DMC didn’t offer any pricing information, but we expect a hefty price tag for the complete package – especially as 880 metric horses are a very exclusive power figure.
