Borussia Dortmund are planning to hold contract talks with Julian Weigl after Euro 2016, amid rumoured interest from Bayern Munich.

Mario Gotze, Robert Lewandowski and, this summer, Mats Hummels have all left Dortmund to join rivals Bayern of late.

And Weigl is reportedly next on Bayern's radar after an impressive breakthrough season at BVB, earning a spot in Germany's Euros squad after making 30 Bundesliga appearances.

But Dortmund general manager Michael Zorc is hoping to ward off Bayern's speculated interest in the 20-year-old by offering him a new contract until 2021, according to Bild.

Speaking to Bild, Zorc said: "Julian being taken to the European Championship is the culmination of his outstanding season.

"This makes me very happy for him and he has also earned it.

"We will certainly sit together after the Euros in a calm manner to discuss everything else."

One player who is set to make the rare journey the other way is Sebastian Rode, who is close to joining Dortmund from Bayern.

"Only the medicals are missing, then it's complete," Rode told Ruhr Nachrichten after landing at Dortmund airport.
