The Leicester City midfielder has enjoyed a superb season for the Premier League leaders and has earned his first Three Lions call-up ahead of clashes with Germany and Netherlands
England manager Roy Hodgson has handed Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater a first international call-up for the upcoming friendlies against Germany and Netherlands.
The Foxes star has impressed for Claudio Ranieri's men thus far this season, with the Foxes leading the Premier League by five points with eight games of the season remaining.
And Hodgson has now rewarded the 26-year-old, who began his career at Manchester United, with his first Three Lions call-up, though there is no place for Michael Carrick.
Elsewhere, Tottenham quintet Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Harry Kane have all been selected, with Spurs second in the Premier League.
Three Lions captain Wayne Rooney misses out through injury, but Daniel Sturridge returns and joins Jamie Vardy, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck as the forwards in the squad.
Arsenal duo Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are also out with injuries while Everton's Leighton Baines is left out.
England face Germany on March 26, before facing Netherlands three days later as they continue their preparations for Euro 2016 this summer.
