The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday re-arraigned a former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, his two sons, and five others before the Federal High Court in Abuja over allegations of money laundering and diversion of public funds. The EFCC had amended the charges brought before the court to 43 but the former governor and his co-accused pleaded not guilty to the charges. The trial judge, Justice Quadri, however, admitted Lamido to bail in the sum of N100m and two sureties in like sum while his sons and the other defendants were admitted to bail in the sum of N50m each and two sureties each in like sum.
