Prof Yemi Osinbajo chats with Senate Minority Leader and former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godwill Akpabio during the National Social Investment Program held at the State House in Abuja.

The spokesperson of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Wilson Uwujaren, has said the case of alleged fraud involving Senator Godswill Akpabio is still open.

Akpabio, former senate minority leader, had said he was a man of peace that had no case to answer with the EFCC, adding that the young man who wrote petition against him to the commission could not prove his case

Responding to Akpabio’s claim, Uwujaren told Punch the lawmakers case was still ongoing.

“EFCC does not close cases or give clearance to anybody,” he said.
