Governor Ayodele Fayose.. Facebook
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Sunday threatened to arrest the outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose.
The anti-graft commission made the threat hours after the Dr Kayode Fayemi was declared winner of the Ekiti State governorship election.
EFCC wrote on its Twitter handle: “The parri is over; The cloak of immunity torn apart, and the staff broken. #Ekiti Integrated Poultry Project/Biological Concepts Limited N1.3bn fraud case file dusted of the shelves. See you soon.”
The tweet which generated a lot of backlash from Nigerians was later deleted by the handlers of the agencies twitter account.
Fayemi defeated his closest rival and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Prof Kolapo Olusola.
