Eight individuals had been killed in a conflict that ensued between armed bandits and native vigilante members in Isa space of Sokoto, police within the state have mentioned.
Spokesman for the command, DSP Cordelia Nwawe, advised journalists that no fewer than eight individuals had been feared useless throughout the fracas.
She mentioned the state Commissioner of Police had visited the village to sympathise with the households of the victims of the assault.
However, report indicated that 13 individuals had been killed as a results of the conflict following a failed try by the bandits to kidnap an aged man at Dan Tasango village in Gebe district on Saturday.
As acknowledged by a source, the aged man had resisted the try which led to his being shot useless by the bandits.
The source mentioned the event and different assaults led members of the native vigilante group to mobilise themselves to path the bandits.
He mentioned unknown to the vigilantees, the bandits had laid an ambush alongside Kamarawa-Bafarawa highway which resulted in a gun duel.
As acknowledged by an eyewitness, the bandits killed seven members of the group and misplaced 5 members throughout the battle.
