The technology landscape as we know it is undergoing a major shift, moving away from a singular on-premises strategy and toward a hybrid approach: migrating some infrastructure to the cloud, while continuing to maintain some critical services onsite. SolarWinds has released the findings of a new survey, which reveals the hybrid IT reality that the vast majority of organizations are experiencing, as well as the barriers to greater adoption of cloud technology. Ninety-two percent of IT professionals polled said adopting cloud technologies is important to their organizations' long-term business success. But this shift is creating new concerns and pressures for IT pros, who must ensure a seamless technology experience, regardless of where the company's IT infrastructure resides—whether on-premises, in the cloud, or more likely than not, in both. In order to drive the hybrid IT migration forward and enable their organizations to better meet business objectives in the hybrid IT world, IT professionals must arm themselves with new skills, including DevOps.
