The former Basel midfielder featured for the first time in the Premier League from kick-off in the north London derby, and is grateful to his coach for giving him the opportunity
Mohamed Elneny thanked Arsene Wenger for giving him his first Arsenal start against Tottenham, and believes he did enough to merit a regular first-team place.
The Egyptian midfielder starred in the north London derby having only featured from the bench in the Premier League since his January move.
While the 10-man Gunners drew 2-2 in the title clash, Elneny affirmed that he was pleased with how he fared.
"Arsene Wenger has confidence in my abilities and the abilities of all the players," he told beIN Sports.
"We had a good game against a strong opponent.
"I wanted to prove that I deserved a place in the starting line-up, and I think I earned my place today."
The former Basel player is in line to make another start in the FA Cup clash against Hull on Tuesday as Francis Coquelin serves a suspension for his red card at White Hart Lane.
