Gareth Southgate appears poised to replace Roy Hodgson as England manager... but does the Under-21 boss have the motivational skills to take the Three Lions to glory at the 2018 World Cup?
Southgate has been installed as the early favourite to replace Hodgson after the 68-year-old resigned following the Three Lions' ignominious loss to Iceland at Euro 2016 on Monday.
The 45-year-old joined the Three Lions' Under-21 side in 2014 and helped guide the nation to Euro 2015, by virtue of a 4-2 aggregate victory over Croatia.
Southgate - whose side finished bottom of the group with just one win from three games - gave a dressing room speech after his side's second win over Croatia, but it is unlikely to fill any watching England fans with confidence.
Watch Southgate's remarkably quiet - and expletive-laden - speech below and wonder whether this man can replace Hodgson ahead of the World Cup in Russia...
